  • Interim Teacher Handscoring System (THSS)

    The Interim Teacher Handscoring System (THSS) issue reported on Friday, January 19, is now resolved. The system is functioning as normal.

  • Mac OS 10.13 Support

    AIR is planning to release a separate secure browser for Mac OS 10.13 prior to the summative test window. If you are using High Sierra, the current Secure Browser 10 will not work and you must install the new Secure Browser 10.2 when it is available.

    Note: Schools using Mac 0S 10.12 or below will not need to install the new Secure Browser. You will receive an Unsupported Browser/OS error if you try to access the Student Testing site if you do so.

  • TIDE Student Nightly File Update

    Most of the issues student nightly file issues should be resolved. We appreciate your patience in this matter. The SDDOE will continue to work with their data vendor to resolve any issues that affect TIDE’s ability to display the most current student information. We appreciate your patience in this matter. Check the portal or with your district coordinator for more details.

  • In an effort to streamline the system maintenance, AIR will be taking online systems offline once per month. This will allow AIR to systematically roll out updates. Urgent updates and updates that won’t cause disruption to live systems may still occur outside of the maintenance window. The scheduled maintenance window for January will be Friday, January 19 at 10:59 pm CT until Sunday, January 21 at 10 pm CT. Users can resume accessing all active, online systems on Monday, January 9. Please refer to the Important Dates section of the portal for specific information for the future dates.

  • Student accommodations in TIDE should be set 3 days before testing. If setting print-on-demand, read-aloud passages, or any other tool that requires state approval, contact the SD DOE 2 weeks in prior to scheduled testing. The SD DOE Office of Assessment can be reached at 605-773-3426.

  • Chrome OS 59 is no longer supported for student testing. Please upgrade to Chrome 60 prior to test administration. For more information, refer to the Supported Browsers page.

  • Districts will not be able to order paper tests.  For the schools using the paper tests, extra tests will be included in the shipment to cover emergencies.  For more support regarding paper tests, please contact Jan Martin, jan.martin@state.sd.us.

  • In order to comply with Smarter Balanced security procedures, the Interim ICA and IAB answer keys are available for download after accessing the General Resources > Download THSS Materials section of TIDE. For more detailed information, refer to the TIDE or THSS category of the FAQs page. As a reminder, these materials should not be posted or distributed to teachers or others not involved in scoring the Interim ICA or IAB Assessments.

  • TIDE Student Nightly File

    The TIDE student nightly file was not processed last night. We are working with the SD DOE to resolve the issue. Update 12/21: We expect that this issue should be resolved tomorrow, December 22. Please check back for more details.

  • Whitelisting South Dakota Portal Domain Names

    To ensure access to the South Dakota portal, technology staff should confirm that these domain names are whitelisted or allowed: http://sd.portal.airast.org and https://sd.portal.airast.org. It is important the both the secure and non-secure domain names are whitelisted.

  • Due to operating system updates, AIR will delay deploying Secure Browser 10. We will support interim and practice tests using Secure Browser 9 through the end of the calendar year as we release version 10 on a staggered schedule. Schools with Secure Browser 9 will not be required to install the Secure Browser 10 until the cutover.

  • Update on iPad iOS11.1 support for Student Testing Student testing is now supported for iPad iOS 11.1. Student testing on iPad 11.0 is now blocked. For schools with iPad 11.0, please upgrade your operating system to iPad 11.1 prior to testing.

  • Update on Mac OS 10.13 for Student Testing

    AIR is still testing and resolving issues for Mac OS10.13. For schools using Mac desktops, AIR recommends that schools avoid using computers with the latest Mac OS for secure testing.
